Billie Eilish once discovered that even a simple Instagram post could have a surprisingly big impact on her follower count.<\/p>\n

The singer took part in a social-media challenge in 2020 where fans asked celebrities to share specific pictures from their phones. When Eilish joined in, however, some followers were caught off guard by what she decided to post.<\/p>\n

One of the images she shared was a screenshot of her phone\u2019s lock screen, which featured two topless women. She later responded to another fan request by posting a drawing of women\u2019s bodies that she had created herself.<\/p>\n

The drawing appeared to be something Eilish was particularly proud of, and she joked about it while sharing the image with her followers.<\/p>\n

But shortly after the posts appeared online, fans noticed something unexpected happening to her Instagram account.<\/p>\n

Her follower count reportedly dropped by around 100,000 in a very short period of time, falling from approximately 73 million to 72.9 million.<\/p>\n

One fan even shared a screenshot highlighting the sudden change and joked about the reason behind the mass unfollowing.<\/p>\n

Eilish herself eventually reposted the comparison to her Instagram Stories. Rather than appearing upset, she seemed to find the situation amusing and responded with a laughing reaction while suggesting that some followers were taking things far too seriously.<\/p>\n

The incident was not the first time Eilish had discovered that changing the way she presented herself could influence how some fans viewed her.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the singer made headlines after moving away from the oversized clothing and distinctive green-and-black hairstyle that had become closely associated with her public image.<\/p>\n

She appeared on the cover of British Vogue with blonde hair and a much more glamorous look, including a corset and fitted clothing.<\/p>\n

The transformation received enormous attention, but it also caused some followers to leave her account.<\/p>\n

Eilish later discussed the reaction during an interview with Elle. She explained that some people had become attached to a particular version of her and struggled when she changed her appearance.

Whether she has green hair, blonde hair, oversized clothes or a more revealing outfit, Eilish has repeatedly made it clear that changing her appearance does not mean she has become a different person.<\/p>\n
