<\/p>\nFormer adult film star Mia Khalifa has spoken candidly about her brief experience in the adult entertainment industry, revealing how the decision affected her long after she left it behind.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with the BBC, Khalifa reflected on what led her into the industry at just 21 and how insecurity, inexperience and the sudden attention she received from men influenced her decisions.<\/p>\n
She explained that after losing around 50 pounds during college, she began receiving attention she had never experienced before and became afraid of losing that validation.<\/p>\n
Khalifa said she was initially approached about modeling before being introduced to nude modeling and eventually adult films. She described the studio environment as clean and professional and acknowledged that, at 21, she did not have a lawyer to help her understand the contracts she was signing.<\/p>\n
Although her career in the industry lasted only about three months, Khalifa said the consequences have followed her ever since. She explained that being recognized in public can trigger intense feelings of shame and discomfort because she knows that her past is only \u201cone Google search away.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also discussed the unrealistic expectations adult content can create, particularly for men who may expect their partners to behave like performers they have seen online.<\/p>\n
Khalifa further revealed that hearing from other women who experienced exploitation, trafficking or pressure within the industry made her realize that speaking publicly about her own experience could help others feel less alone.<\/p>\n
